Have you ever asked anyone for directions? How about using MapQuest or Google Maps?
I’ve learned the secret for using Google Maps on my iPhone when I am driving. Plug it in to a charging port or the phone will be dead by the time you get to your destination!
Why use Google maps? Because I don’t know the fastest and easiest way to get where I am going. However, with Google maps, I only have to plug in the destination address, use my current location, and I’ll get visual and verbal directions to get there by car, by bus, or even by walking.
How do we get to heaven? Sorry, Google maps can’t get you there. But there is another way.
Jesus told His disciples that He would prepare a place for them. He spoke about His Father’s house and that He must go there to prepare a place for them. Thomas, one of the disciples told Jesus that he didn’t know where Jesus was going, so how could the disciples know the way to follow him?
Jesus said He was the Way. He is the way to heaven. By following Him, trusting Him with ourselves, our lives, our loves, our passions, our thoughts and deeds, He will take us to the Father. And that’s where heaven is.
Next time you Google directions, think about getting directions to heaven. Talk about it. Or ask your friends if they know the WAY.
